Security & Data Processing

Last updated 7 October 2026

A plain-English summary of how Castfolio protects the information casting directors hold.

Every library is private

Each casting director's actors, projects, roles and notes are locked to their own account at the database level. No other account can view or change them.

Headshots stay private

Photos are kept in private storage, never publicly listed or indexed by search engines. They're only shown through secure links that expire after a short time.

Encrypted connections

All traffic — signing in, browsing your library, and actor submissions — is encrypted over HTTPS.

Safe submissions

Submission links are long, random and can be switched off at any time. Submitted details go only to the casting director who owns the link, and the form never reveals what's already in their library.

Who does what

The casting director decides what data to hold and why. Castfolio stores and processes it on their behalf, only to provide the service.
